Lanzarote Airport
Lanzarote Airport (ACE)
Overview
One of the busiest airports in the Canary Islands, Lanzarote Airport is located just three miles (5km) southwest of Arrecife on the island of Lanzarote. Serving roughly 5.5 million passengers, most of the 46,000 flights to Lanzarote Airport each year are seasonal routes during the peak summer season as tourists from the UK and other European destinations flock to the popular resorts of the Canary Islands.
The facilities at Lanzarote Airport are small and can be crowded at peak times, especially on Thursdays in peak season when several UK flights arrive at the same time. The airport has two terminals: the newer Terminal 1 handles international flights, while the old Terminal 2 has been refurbished to accommodate domestic and inter-island flights.
Passengers will want to visit the Guacimeta Passenger Terminal, which has been converted into an aviation museum open Thursdays to Sundays from 10 to 2pm.
