The airport is situated five miles (8km) from the city centre of Porto Alegre.
Getting to the city
The Porto Alegre Metro connects Terminal 1 to the airport metro station, which is on the main metro line. Conorte provides public bus service via routes B09 and B091. Rates are $4.30 per person. Taxis are available outside Terminal 1.

Cootaero provides taxi service from the airport at fixed rates. Bilingual drivers are available.
Transfer between terminals
A circular bus service transports passengers between the terminals.
Airport facilities include a lost and found, a tourist information counter, a business centre, currency exchange facilities, an ATM, VIP lounge, chapel, massage stations, shoeshine service, public telephones, postal services, and an assortment of restaurants and shops.
There is a large parking lot at the airport, within walking distance of the terminals. Parking rates start from $5 for the first 15 minutes, $12 for half an hour, $18 per hour, and $30 per day
Airlines from the Salgado Filho Airport include Aerolineas Argentinas, Amaszonas Paraguay, Avianca Peru, Azul Brazilians Airlines, Copa Airlines, Gol Airlines, LATAM Brasil, and TAP Air Portugal.
Wifi is free throughout the terminals.
