The best airport to use when booking flights to Antigua and Barbuda is V C Bird International Airport. While V C Bird is a relatively small airport, it is used as a hub by Leeward Islands Air Transport (LIAT) and it is a short drive from the capital, St John's, on Antigua Island.
Passengers arriving at V C Bird International Airport will find it a breeze, as it generally takes only a few minutes after landing to collect your baggage and head out of the airport. However, passengers flying out of V C Bird should arrive ahead of time as queues can be long, and because the check-in area is not air conditioned, check-in early and then grab a drink at the Sticky Wicket pub across the road.
The airport is located on the northeast corner of Antigua, five miles (8km) from St. John's.
Getting to the city
There is no main public transport available from the airport. Taxis are available outside the terminal and take around 10-15 minutes to St John's for a fixed fare.
